Starfish

Starfish

Spineless sea yogis,

all arms and arms, wedged

into impossible spaces.

Barnacled outcroppings prop

a supple pose, like a shadow,

cast by a heavenly cousin –

held by hope

in the turning of the tide.

They are disciplined servants,

tangled but tough

enduring the absence

of Your wet breath.

  1. I love your final words …
“Tangled but tough … enduring the absence of Your wet breath.”

In them, I read my heart this morning.
    Beautiful friend!
